21 year old Anika is very cheerful and upbeat. She enjoys going out and having fun. But aside from turning up, Anika really enjoys being there for people and watching them flourish. She has many goals, but her long term goal is to continue to impact the youth. She inspires to show them that anything is possible and opportunities are limitless when you think without a limit. In a couple of years, Anika see's herself living on her own comfortably but still very ambitious. She knows that she can achieve all of these things with proper rest, staying focus, and most importantly, giving God praise and worship...

Anika and I have been close friends for a couple of years now. She is what I like to call my backbone and spiritual sister. From day one she has always been the realist and has been there for me thru thick and thin. I know I can always call and talk to her about anything and our conversations always revolve around the love and mercy God has for us. Anika is an amazing woman and I am so gracious to have met a friend like her...

very recently Anika and I had a conversation about being black women in society and the ups and downs we receive from being so. "Our sprits are naturally beautiful and I embrace it every single day...", She expressed to me while we conversed on what makes her proud to be a black woman. "No one can gyrate the way that we gyrate... so if we are twerkin' its workin'... its all apart of the African culture". But while still on the same conversation, Anika explained to me the challenge's she faced growing up. A lot of people would make comments on the way that she spoke. Saying that she "Talks like a white girl" only because she speaks proper with such grace. She feels as though that whenever there is a black woman or a( black person period) that is a well educated and proper speaker, someone always have to make a comment saying they "Talk white" or "he/she thinks they're white". That being a major issue to her growing up as a young black woman in society. But even threw the negativity and tough times, Anika still embraces her blacknesss with love and respect. "I am simply black and I love being it".
